Appreciation of the modern female form is the subject of much of my work. Beautiful Hybrids was a test of using the digital college as a visual process. I directed the photoshoot with pre-planned poses, plus choose exactly where I wanted light and shade. Consideration went into how the model’s gesture would generate a believable character.

The narrative was inspired by the work of the Pre-Raphaelites who often drew mythical women such as the Sphinx and Siren in positions of strength and grace. This is a topic I still continue to explore. The most recent piece was in reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, and features a young micro-mermaid approaching the deadly virus in curiosity.
